Royal Vestments (Richardson 09) TB, M, 35". How do you distinguish between violet and purple? Perhaps this iris will help. It is a rich royal purple self a violet with a reddish tinge. The red influence is intensified in the smooth red hafts. Broad flowers are heavily ruffled with flaring falls; red-plum thumbprints on the hafts beside violet beards that are tipped mustard.
